Clarify proofreading and notarization from the start

Proofreading addresses the quality of the translated content. If notarization is needed, we also discuss the source documents, number of copies, delivery method and appropriate assistance for your requirements.

For an already notarized translation, send both the source and the current translation so we can assess a correction approach. Specific requirements of the receiving organization should be clarified before work begins.

What do you receive after proofreading?

  • A revised translation within the confirmed scope
  • Questions requiring clarification if the source is incomplete or unclear
  • A clean file; a marked-up version when agreed
  • Print, notarization and delivery arrangements when requested

A quote based on the review your files need

We assess the existing translation before determining the cost. Key factors include the language pair, volume, subject area, source legibility, extent of errors and delivery schedule.

If additional translation, retyping, notarization or shipping is required, those items are discussed separately according to your needs.

Questions before you send your files

Clear requirements help us establish the right scope and delivery schedule

How does proofreading differ from a new translation?

Proofreading starts with an existing translation and checks it against the source for errors, omissions, terminology, figures and presentation. If substantial content is missing or most of the translation needs to be rewritten, we discuss a new translation before quoting.

Which documents should I send?

Send the source document or a clear scan together with the translation to be reviewed. Editable files, glossaries and the receiving organization’s requirements are helpful when available. Include the language pair, requested deadline and any notarization needs.

Can you review a translation that has already been notarized?

We can review the content of an existing translation. If errors are found, the correction process and preparation of a replacement for notarization need to be discussed for that document. Editing the text does not itself change an already issued notarization.

Can you handle an urgent request?

Send the source, the translation and the time you need delivery. Urgent availability depends on the language pair, volume, document legibility and extent of revisions. We confirm the delivery schedule after reviewing the files.

How are proofreading and notarization fees calculated?

Proofreading fees depend on volume, subject area, the quality of the existing translation and the deadline. Any additional translation, notarization or delivery charges are clarified in the quotation for your chosen scope.

Can I enquire without an editable file?

You can send a clear PDF or complete document photos. TanViet will assess the review, any retyping needed and a suitable delivery format. You can also leave an email address or phone number before uploading documents.
